I went to Bacolod recently for the famous Maskara Festival. The city was alive with bright colors, lively music, and amazing dancers in beautiful masks. The atmosphere was joyful, and everyone was in high spirits. The streets were filled with people, all enjoying the festivities and joining the celebration. It felt like Bacolod was one big, happy family welcoming everyone with open arms.
Other than that, one thing I was excited to try was Bacolod’s Chicken Inasal. This dish is a must-have for anyone visiting the city, with its flavorful grilled chicken that’s cooked to perfection. Every bite was filled with that smoky, delicious taste. Many locals recommend it, and I can see why. Chicken Inasal definitely lived up to the hype, and it was the perfect meal to enjoy in our trip.
We also took some time to visit The Ruins, one of Bacolod’s most famous historical sites. The place was stunning, with its unique architecture standing strong in the greenery. Walking around, I could feel the history within those walls, and it offered a peaceful moment away from the crowded festival. Visiting The Ruins added a nice, calm touch to our otherwise vibrant Bacolod trip.
We also made a few other food stops along the way. When we were in Tanjay, we grabbed dinner at Jollibee at 8 PM. And stopping over for a quick bite is possibly one of the best things about a long trip. It was a simple meal, but it felt comforting for the long trip to come.
Before reaching Bacolod, we had a quick meal at McDonald's in a city nearby (I forgot what the city or town was called). It was just a short stop, but it was nice to take a break and refuel for the rest of the trip. This journey to Bacolod was filled with memorable moments, good food, and great experiences at the festival. I'm going back there one day.
