When I first started blogging, I chose WordPress because everyone was using it. YouTube recommended it, Reddit recommended it, and social media platforms recommended it - it has all the hype. It’s popular and has a lot of features. But after a while, it was sickening to use. One of the biggest issues I had with WordPress was the cost. To use your own JavaScript code or any custom code, you have to pay a monthly fee (which isn't worth it if you're not focused on monetizing your site). This can get expensive, especially if you just want a simple blog and portfolio. The codes and plugins you must learn to have a decent website are also a bit too complicated for me. I lost count of the number of times my blog pictures bounced all over the screen.

Blogger, on the other hand, is much simpler. It still has some tricky parts, especially when you’re setting up your website, but overall it’s a lot easier to learn and use. You don’t need to pay any extra fees to use custom code, which is a big plus (and the themes too, there are over 15,000 number of themes you could choose from - and they are free!). The interface is straightforward, and it’s easy to customize your blog without needing to know a lot of coding. Heck, I spent weeks coding my WordPress website to make it decent, on Blogger, it took me literally hours. It's good to be able to write and not fiddle with website settings.

You can add gadgets and widgets to your blog to make it more interactive and interesting. I’m currently working on migrating all my content from WordPress to Blogger. It’s a bit of work, but I think it will be worth it in the end.

I also plan on updating Alon on Blogger, so stay tuned.
