Based on the song’s visual and lyrical artistry, the central point of Joji’s song “Sanctuary” revolves around the idea of searching for life’s meaning. At the beginning of the video, Joji accidentally kills his arch-nemesis. With nothing left to do, Joji and his crew are left without a purpose. Upon seeing everyone’s condition, Joji’s most loyal friend gauges his left eye and launches an assault on Joji’s spacecraft – taking the identity of the slain villain. The act reignited the crew’s longing for meaning and a renewed sense of direction. The ending shot showed Joji smiling.
