During my college days as a Political Science student, we were required to conduct a survey on the 2016 elections. We were using the systematic sampling method, which meant we couldn't just randomly approach people on the streets to answer a questionnaire. Instead, we had a methodical approach to selecting houses to ensure a representative sample. It was very tiring to be honest, we must have walked more than 5 kilometers with heavy bags.
So, after a long and tiring day of surveying, I decided to stop by Neva's and ordered myself a Chicken Milanise. A few minutes later, a classmate of mine happened to stop by as well. As a gesture, I told him, "mangaon ta bai" (hey, let's eat). So this dude actually sat down and started eating with me. I was fine with sharing, but what caught me off guard was him eating more of my meal than I did (He ate 6 of the 8 chicken that was served).
It wasn't that a big deal for me, I even struck up a decent conversation with him. The situation turned sour for me, after finishing more than half of my meal, he decided to order his own: a Chicken Milanese plus a pizza. He never said, "mangaon ta" to me. I assumed all that food was for himself, even after taking more than half of mine. Dude switched boats.
It's just a funny memory of mine.
